Vigil Fitness ("Vigil", "we", "our") is a self-improvement app that tracks fitness, focus, meditation, journaling, and daily habits. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
Health Data: With your permission, Vigil reads health data from Apple HealthKit, including heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, sleep data, step count, and workout data. This data is used solely to display your health metrics within the app. We never sell or share your health data with third parties.
Apple ID: If you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email (if you choose to share them). This is used only for account identification and subscription management.
Camera: With your permission, Vigil uses the camera to scan food barcodes for nutrition lookup. Images are processed and not stored.
AI Features: When you use AI-powered features (chat, food photo analysis, meal descriptions), your input is sent to our server proxy which forwards it to Anthropic's API for processing. We do not store your AI conversations on our servers.
Cloud Backup: If you enable cloud sync, your app data is stored in your private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. We cannot access your iCloud data.
All app data (workouts, journal entries, food logs, habits, goals) is stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. If you enable cloud backup, a copy is stored in your personal iCloud account. We do not operate external servers that store your personal data.
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Health data collected through HealthKit is never shared with advertising platforms, data brokers, or any third party.
Vigil Pro subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store. Payment is processed by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.
Vigil is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
